Single Session Sculptures

These works are grounded by historical research, into the 1936 mural commission by WPA/Federal Art Project for Williamsburg Housing Projects. These abstract murals, recently restored and exhibited by the Brooklyn Museum, were the first completely non-objective public murals in the United States. Recurring shapes and images from these murals form an index for this recent series of sculptures and photographs.
